Belleville police responded to 62 calls for service between 5 a.m. on January 17, 2022 and 5 a.m. on January 18, 2022
Fraud
On January 17, 2022, Belleville police received a call for service regarding an internet fraud/scam. The complainant sent a friend money on social media and after the money was sent, the complainant discovered the friend’s social media account had been hacked. Belleville Police Service want to remind residents to be diligent when someone is asking for money over the internet or phone. Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville police responded to only two motor vehicle collisions during yesterday’s heavy snow fall. Only property damage was reported, no injuries. No charges were laid in either incident.
