Following an extensive investigation, Central Hastings OPP have arrested and charged two men for human trafficking offences.
The Central Hastings Crime Unit, the the OPP Human Trafficking Unit, the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit began an investigation in September of last year after an incident was reported to police.
Forty-three-year-old Jeffrey Fleming of Centre Hastings is charged with Trafficking in Persons, Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons, Sexual Assault with a Weapon.
Thirty-nine-year-old Damion Lewis of Brantford faces a half dozen charges including Trafficking in Persons, Aggravated Sexual Assault, Uttering Threats, Assault with a Weapon, Sexual Assault and Pointing a Firearm.
Both have been remanded into custody with a bail hearing scheduled for January 20.
Central Hastings OPP say no further details will be released as a publication ban has been imposed.
