Fire caused heavy damage to the administration building of the Bayfield Treatment Centre in Consecon Wednesday morning.
Prince Edward County firefighters were called out at 2:30 a.m. to find flames visible in the building, located at the intersection of County roads 29 and 39, which is very close to the Consecon fire hall.
The building was vacant at the time and there have been no reports of injury. Firefighters will be on scene for most of the morning as an investigation for a cause gets underway.
Members of the public are being asked to stay away from the area.
Bayfield Treatment Centres offer programming and accommodation for troubled youth.
