While most people slept Belleville firefighters were kept busy with a couple of minor incidents occurring simultaneously early Wednesday.
At around 2:45 in the morning crews were called out to Redpath Sugar on University Avenue when an alarm went off.
A broken sprinkler head was found to be spewing water in a section of the plant.
Meanwhile a few moments later firefighters responded to the Travelers Inn on North Front Street.
A room had been entered and a smouldering blanket was found inside.
There were no injuries in either incident.
