Prince Edward County firefighters responded to a fire Monday morning on Paul Street in Picton.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire which came in around 11 a.m. and limited the fire damage to the rear porch.
Damage is estimated at $5,000 and the cause remains under investigation.
The Prince Edward County Fire Department reminds everyone to ensure they have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in their home.
