Gleaners food bank is as busy as it’s ever been.
But at Monday’s council meeting Councillor Sean Kelly said because of the COVID-19 pandemic the number of volunteers working at the food bank has been lower.
“I just wanted to give a shout out that if you have some time to volunteer, and they do take the COVID protocols at Gleaners food bank, they would certainly appreciate your support.”
Demand for food from Gleaners was up over 20% last year from 2020 and on average 60 families per day use the food bank.
