Like other local municipalities, Belleville’s construction industry finished 2021 on a high note.
In December, the city issued 78 permits with a construction value of $29.4 million.
That is up from December 2020 when 76 permits worth $ 12.3 million were issued.
Twenty-eight of last month’s permits – a construction value of $18.3 million were related to new residential construction.
Building activity was up over the entire year with the city ending 2021 with $126.6 million worth of construction, an increase of $25 million over 2020.
