There were record amounts of roadwork, both urban and rural, and sidewalk installation and repair done in the Municipality of Brighton in 2021.
And Mayor Brian Ostrander says that focus will continue through 2022.
“again planning to reconstruct more rural roads than we ever have. We’re going to make sure to keep working on those sidewalks to
make sure that we have a good walkable and health community.”
Meanwhile Ostrander says council and staff, in consultation with residents, will get straight to work on creating a secondary plan, a community planning tool that will be more focused than it’s ever been.
“It will say to developers on this chunk of land here’s what we expect and it will guide that growth, it will guide what that growth looks like rather than that kind of patchwork framework we’ve all become used to.”
