Officers from Prince Edward County charged two people with drug offences in two separate incidents last week.
On Thursday, December 30 around 1 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program at Highway 62 and County Road 3 in Ameliasburg.
One driver who was stopped was found to be driving while prohibited and the passenger was found to be failing to comply with conditions.
An investigation found quantities of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, two cell phones and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Steven Johnson, 38, of Belleville is charged with operation while prohibited.
Birki Omar, 21, of Orleans is charged with failure to comply and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both parties were held for a bail hearing on December 30, 2021. The vehicle was impounded for a period of 45 days.
Approximately 24 hours later during another RIDE program at the same location, officers were provided with a false ID by one driver.
Further investigation revealed a quantity of currency, suspected psilocybin, cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
Sarah Hilts, 41, of Belleville is facing charges of failing to comply with a probation order, failure to comply with a release order, obstruct peace officer, operation while prohibited and possession.
The vehicle was impounded for a period of 45 days. She was held for a bail hearing on December 31, 2021.
