The work isn’t slowing at all in the new year for Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lesley Lavender.
With the ongoing pandemic and other chamber responsibilities, there’s also election debates to be had and hosted.
“So that is a big part that chambers of commerce play, is helping to facilitate candidate debates and bringing the issues forward. We have several advocacy issues that we would want to address for the business community and even at a local standpoint, there are lots of hyperlocal issues with bylaws with our own municipality that we actively work to address.”
Lavender is looking to build on work that was done last year in 2022.
She said that after creating a member directory in 2021, they’re looking to expand on it this year.
“We are hoping to develop a digital map for our businesses to complement our directory that I just noted. It got significant improvements in 2021 so we’re hoping to continue to grow on that with the development of a digital map.”
This will come alongside other modernizing technological upgrades and advancements for the chamber.
