The Quinte region will not be seeing record cold temperatures in the coming days like Western provinces are currently experiencing.
Meteorologist Kevin Williams says we will see a small bit of colder temperatures, but it won’t be record breaking.
“Remarkably intense and persistent cold has been the hallmark of the winter to date across the prairies. Temperatures earlier this morning, dropped to -44 in parts of southern Saskatchewan. Now a chunk of that chill is coming our way Sunday and early next week, but just a little chunk. While it is going to get colder, and we expect colder conditions in January overall, we do not foresee at this time, anywhere near the caliber cold they’ve been seeing in the prairies in the coming days and weeks.”
