Vandals have struck again in Quinte West.
Mayor Jim Harrison tells Quinte News the Doug Whitney Christmas Fantasy lighting display at Fraser Park in Trenton was vandalized Tuesday night – the third time this season.
He says with the amount of damage done to the lighting system, they’ll have to close down the display early though some lights around Compass Court will remain on for the next two or three days.
Mayor Harrison calls the vandalism sad and sickening.
He says they’ve tried to make the city more attractive and give people something to enjoy during these difficult times and doesn’t understand why anyone would do something like this.
They will replace the lights next year.
Quinte West OPP are investigating.
