Larry Shannon of Belleville is the winner of a brand new Cadillac CT4 Sport.
Wednesday morning at Peter Smith Chev Cadillac on Highway 62, the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, Vicki Smith, and dealer Cole Allinger pulled Shannon’s name for the vehicle.
BGHF Executive Director Steve Cook says well over $100,000 in tickets were sold, raising funds for oncology services at the hospital.
“The initiative was brought in to help make the Dr. Douglas MacIntosh Oncology Fund more sustainable. So, you know, we obviously want to play our part as a foundation in doing that, saving the lives of our loved ones, family, friends and colleagues.”
Vicki Smith, former owner of Peter Smith talked about the importance of the hospital to her and her late husband.
” … to know that funds are being secured to have the most up-to-date equipment available and analytics for the patients.”
Cole Allinger is the General Manager of Peter Smith Chev Cadillac and says the lotto is much more than the vehicle.
” … the awareness that’s bringing the community in together. So, you know, we’re helping by donating the car. People are donating by buying tickets. I think that really brings everyone together.”
There were 6,200 tickets sold over five months.
