When it comes to water levels in Lake Ontario over the past three months, September through November are ranked as the third wettest autumn on record.
As a result the International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board says levels in the big lake are currently 34 centimetres above
the long term average for the season but are also below the 1945 record high for the time of year by the same amount.
The Board continues to maintain increased outflows from the lake to the St. Lawrence River, the third highest ever for the month of December.
The Board cautions that there is little correlation between December water levels and those experienced in the spring.
