The Belleville General Hospital Foundation is hosting its first annual “Medithon” in support of the Regional Nuclear Medicine Project Friday.
CJBQ, Mix 97 and Rock 107 are among five local radio stations taking part in the event from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.
The Medithon is raising money for the Regional Nuclear Medicine project which aims to replace the three aging cameras at Belleville Hospital with two new, high tech functioning cameras.
The Medithon is supporting the BGHF’s annual gala which was recently moved to a virtual format after being planned originally for an in-person event.
BGHF Executive Director Steve Cook said while it’s been a stressful period, the team at the foundation has handled it well.
“We’re a small but mighty team and I’ve got to give it to the team, to be honest, and everybody else that is helping us pull off that event virtually. It’s not easy to pivot so late in the game with three days to go but, again, our guests and our sponsors and the community and people that really have a passion for the hospital have been absolutely amazing and personally and professionally I can’t thank them enough.”
There is also a virtual auction live on the foundation’s website.
To donate, call 613-961-5505 or text BGHF to 20222 or go to bghf.ca to donate and bid on the more than 80 items in the Virtual Auction.
