U9- Foley Bus Lines
The Foley Bus Lines QRD U9 AAA Team finally got to see some game action this weekend, when they hosted The Whitby Wildcats to a game at World Elite.
The Home team were flying when they hit the ice and put on a display of all their hard work from practices so far this season. Lily Groeneveld was sensational in net both games for the Red Devils. The entire team played a very strong game, providing lots of offence and spectacular defense. Players of the games were awarded to Ethan Dowling in game #1 and Malkin Courtney in game #2.
On Deck: The Red Devils will continue to prepare for the start of their regular season games by working hard in practices and look forward to competing in more games soon.
U13- E360 Solutions
A three game week ends with a win, tie and loss for the E360 Solutions U13’s.
On Friday, the team went to Kingston to face off against the Kingston Jr. Gaels. It was a scoreless first period, but the sticks got hot in the second. On the power play, Jonas McCoy to Chase Cybulskie to get Quinte on the board. McCoy again to Ryan Foley for the second goal. Then Ryan Sherwin with a steal to Keegan Goulah and in the net. The period would end with Nate Rashotte to Wyatt Whalen for the fourth goal of the period. The second period would end with a score of 4-1, which would become the final score of the game. Lily Reid would get the win in net for the Devils.
Saturday, the E360 Solutions U13’s hosted the Whitby Wildcats in Belleville. Once again, it was a scoreless first period. The end of second period would see the Devils down 1-0 against the Wildcats. Seth Scaletta to Goulah with a slapshot and in to tie the game. Fifteen seconds later Cybulskie with the drop pass to Whalen for a 2-1 score. Unfortunately, the Devils couldn’t hang on for the win and would have to settle for a 2-2 tie with Whitby. Charlie Vos stopped 22 shots on net.
Another home game on Sunday when the E360 Solution hosted the Clarington Toro’s in their home barn in Madoc. Quinte got on the board first with a pass out front from Maclean Chisholm to Ty Leavitt for the goal. The Toros answered right back with a goal and the first period would end in a 1-1 tie. Sherwin with the rebound from Jake Gawley followed quickly by a slap shot by Chisholm to hit the back of the net. Quinte would end the second period up 3-2. Quinte would score one more goal in the third period when Scaletta fired a shot on net and Cybulskie would get the rebound and score. The Toros would answer back and tie the game and then score again. Unfortunately, the clock ran out and Quinte ended with a 5-4 loss against the Toros.
On Deck: The Devils travel to Oshawa to take on the Generals and then host the Markham Waxers.
U12- Stampkrete Concrete Contracting
On Tuesday November 30th the Stampkrete QRD U12’s hosted the Central Ontario Wolves at the Marmora Arena. It was a back and forth affair, with both clubs trading scoring opportunities. After the 1st period it was tied 1-1 after Lauchlan Whelan found the back of the net assisted by Ewan Dahle and Kalum Phillips. Trent Clow would put Quinte ahead in the 2nd from Whelan and Brechyn Aird, but COW would even the score before the end of the period. In the 3rd goals by Dahle and Aird (assists by Whelan, Joey Seguin and Coen Lowry) proved to be not enough as COW would get the best of QRD for the second time this season with a score of 5-4.
The Stampkrete QRD U12’s were forced to withdraw from The Canadians Cup Tournament in Toronto on the weekend due to Covid-19 protocol. The team is looking forward to getting back to work this upcoming weekend as they face 2 of the top teams in the league!

U14- Free Flow Petroleum
This weekend the U14 Free Flow Petroleum Quinte Red Devils went 3-1-1 at the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Tournament.
Traveling to Hamilton on Friday, the Devils first match-up was against the Ajax Pickering Raiders, with Cohen Bedore was in net for the 8-2 victory. Scoring for the Devils were: Jacob Campbell (2 goals, 2 assists), Matthew Airhart (2 goals, 1 assist), Kaden Koutroulides (2 goals), Liam Campbell (1 goal), and Jack Foley (1 goal).
A second, late night game on Friday saw the Devils line up against the North Bay Trappers. Opening scoring was Jacob Moore (unassisted). Moore (Noah Lesser) hit the netting again before the end of the first. Goals in the second from Jake Campbell (Liam Campbell) and Lesser. Katste Brant in net for the 4-0 win.
Saturday afternoon the Red Devils faced off against the Toronto Red Wings. With strong play on both sides, the match finished in a draw. Airhart (Foley) opened scoring for the Devils in second, with goals in the third from Liam Campbell (unassisted) and Moore (Airhart). Bedore in net for the 3-3 tie.
Later, Saturday night, the Devils met the Guelph Gryphons. Despite a slow start, the Devils made their mark in the second, scoring three times during the frame. Goals by Liam Campbell (Koutroulides), Airhart (Moore), and Moore (Tavin MacDonald). Closing out scoring, Foley (Liam Campbell) hit the netting in the third, Brant earning his second shutout of the weekend in the 4-0 victory.
Sunday morning the Devils lined up for a rematch against the Toronto Red Wings in quarter final action. Despite some strong and impressive gameplay, the Devils were not able to secure a win and did not move on. Goal by Rhett Colson and Airhart (Lesser). Bedore in net for the 3-2 loss.
On Deck- The U14 Free Flow Petroleum Devils host the Richmond Hill Cyclones on Sunday at 12:30pm at QSCW.
U16- Madison Excavating
The Madison Excavating Quinte Red Devils took to the road this weekend to play in the prestigious Showcase Weekend in Oakville winning both of their games to continue their undefeated season.
Their first game Saturday was against the Richmond Hill Coyotes ending in a 3-0 win. Goals by Nolan Donnelly, Thomas Kuipers and Reed Gee. Assists by Trey Cocek, Mike McIvor, Reed Gee, Carson Campbell, Ben Vreugdenhil snd Beckett Ewart. Mike McIvor standing tall in net for the shutout.
In the second game on Sunday they battled their arch rival the second place Markham Waxers defeating them 4-3. Goals by Thomas Kuipers, Nolan Donnelly, Ben Danford and Ethan Toms. Assists by Braedyn Rogers (2), Liam Philip(2), Trey Cocek, Ben Danford, Beckett Ewart and Thomas Kuipers. In net for the win Glen McInnes.
On Deck: The U16s will host the Clarington Toros on Saturday.
U18- McInroy Maines Construction
The Quinte McInroy-Maines U18 Red Devils grabbed three of four points in ETA league play this week.
On Tuesday night, QRD defeated the Central Ontario Wolves 4-1. Jack Lowry 2, Ethan Osborne and Kellen Dostaler scored in the win while Osborne 2, Tyson Carr 2, Justin Murdoch 2, Aiden Haller-Brady and Spencer Horgan picked up assists. Brady Spry was solid between the pipes for QRD. Lowry picked up Devil of the Day honors in the win.
On Thursday, the U18s continued their strong play, but could not find the back of the net, settling for one point in a 0-0 tie with the Clarington Toros. Brayden Friedrich collected the shutout for the Devils while Devil of the Day honours was shared by Ryan Turney, Liam Reid and Tyson Carr.
On Deck: The U18s will travel to Ajax on Wednesday for a mid week clash with the first placed Ajax Pickering Raiders and then play host on Saturday at 6pm on the Mackey to the Kingston Jr. Gaels.
U11- Borchert’s Roofing
The Borchert’s Roofing QRD U11AAA Team had another great weekend on the road, putting up 3 more wins, and improving their record to 16-0 in ETA League play. On Saturday, the team made a pit stop on the way to their league game, to play an exhibition game vs The Elgin Middlesex Chiefs. In a fast paced game that had the fans on the edge of their seat, Noah Hughes lit the lamp 3 times for his team on the way to a 3-1 win. Dax Sage made several highlight reel saves against the powerhouse Chiefs. Hughes and Sage shared player of the game honors.
Saturday afternoon, The Red Devils arrived in Richmond Hill to Take on The Coyotes in ETA league play and skated to a 12-3 win. Scoring for the Red Devils Grady Riley (2), James Gullage (2), Jaxson Plummer (2), Brody Grant (2), Cameron Stevens, Mason Whalen, Austin Pettey and Rowyn Haley. Adding assists on the goals; Gullage (2), Shea Teather (2), Whalen (2), Thomas Marsden (2), Noah Hughes (3), Riley, Stevens, Haley, Grant, Edmund Dowling, Miller Nicholson, Plummer. Matthew Travers was in net for the win. Brody Grant was named player of the game.
On Sunday, the Red Devils were back on the road for an early afternoon game in Clarington. After a slow start in the game, the game was tied 3-3 after the first period. The Devils found their stride early in the second, and went on to score 12 unanswered goals in a 15-3 win. Team captain, Mason Whalen had a hat trick in the game. Also finding the back of the net for the Red Devils was Gullage (2), Riley (2), Teather (2), Haley, Plummer, Grant, Nicholson, Pettey and Hughes. Chipping in with Assists on the goals; Stevens (3), Whalen (3), Grant (4), Teather (4), Hughes (4), Nicholson (2), Riley (2), Plummer (2), Gullage, Holden Goulah, Dowling. Matthew Travers picked up another win between the pipes.
On Deck: The Team are headed to Vaughn December 10-12th to participate against some of the top teams in the Province at The Vaughn Kings Classic Tournament.
U10- Gillespie’s Tree Service
Gillespie Tree Services QRD U10’s Go 0-1-1 This Weekend
The Gillespie Tree Services QRD U10’s travelled to Barrie on Saturday to take on the Jr. Colts. Heading into the game the boys knew it was going to be a challenge as Barrie was a perfect 10-0 in league play. Hayden Tripp got the start in goal and played great as QRD held the Colts to only one goal in the 1st period. Unfortunately, as the game went further the undermanned QRD squad started to look fatigued, and Barrie jumped all over that opportunity. The final score was 9-0 for the Jr. Colts.
After a tough game on Saturday, the QRD team looked to rebound while hosting Richmond Hill. Although QRD had a strong 1st period they found themselves trailing 2-0. The Red Devils would get on board in the 2nd period to bring the score a little closer heading into the 3rd. The theme so far this season seems to be resilience as QRD yet again scores another goal in the 3rd period to even the score and finish the game in a 2-2 tie. Hayden Tripp earned the tie with his strong play and timely saves between the pipes.
