RECOVERED STOLEN PROPERTY
On December 6, 2021 at 6:28 a.m., the complainant from a theft attended the Belleville Police Service to report he had observed his previously reported stolen mitre saw for sale on a local social media platform. Police contacted the person selling the saw and found that a 39-year-old Belleville resident Daryl Verner was in possession of the stolen saw. As a result, Verner was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and released with a court date of January 6, 2021. The saw was returned to its owner.
DOMESTIC MISCHIEF
On December 6, 2021at 8:38 a.m., police attended a Bridge Street East address for reports of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that the boyfriend of the complainant had scratched the hood of her car. As a result, a 21-year-old male Belleville resident was charged with domestic mischief and later released with a court date of January 10, 2021. The name of the charged male is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
DOWNTOWN MISCHIEF
On December 6, 2021 at 10:37 a.m., Belleville police were called to a Front Street apartment building regarding a male who had used a shovel to smash a window out of a door to gain access to the building. The male was then observed inside the building causing damage with the shovel. Police arrived on scene and located the shovel but the male was gone. Further investigation revealed that the incident was domestic-related. The suspect was identified and was arrested at a west end residence an hour later. As a result, a 33-year-old Shannonville resident is charged with break and enter and commit mischief, domestic mischief and weapons dangerous. The male was later released with a court date of January 10, 2022. The name of the charged male is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
