Longtime Chief of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte R Don Maracle has easily retained his position as Chief after the band council election Saturday.
Chief Maracle received 908 votes while only 69 votes were cast for challenger Andrew Miracle.
Elected as councillors were Carl (Ted) Maracle, Josh Hill, Stacia Loft, and Chris Maracle.
Band council elections are held every two years.
