It was a big week for the Quinte Ballet School as the establishment celebrated 50 years and received a sizable grant from the Ontario Trillium Fund.
Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith was on hand at the Quinte Ballet School to congratulate staff and volunteers on both the anniversary and the receipt of a $14,800 grant from the Government of Ontario’s Community Building Fund – Operating stream.
The grant will be delivered over a period of one year by the Trillium Foundation.
According to a release from the school the money will be used to help the school “by supporting dance instruction costs and investing in social media technology and services to implement a new social media and community outreach strategy.”
At the recognition, students from the school’s professional training program provided a sneak peek at their performance of The Nutcracker which they’ll perform at The Empire Theatre on December 12.
