If Quinte West council gives its approval and all goes according to plan residents using city water/sewer services will be receiving a bill every month instead of every two by the start of next summer.
Quinte West has been in the process of installing state of the art water meters that allow staff to simply drive by a residence and water usage will be transmitted from the meter to a device in the staff member’s car.
The technology allows the city to not have to hire an outside contractor to physically read meters.
By the start of the summer it’s expected 75% of water/sewer customers will have the modern meters.
