The City of Quinte West is in the process of finishing the installation of electric vehicle charging stations on some of its properties and is also in the process of setting fees for their use.
Wednesday council’s Corporate Finance Committee recommended that charging fees be set at $1.50 an hour at city-owned charging stations.
That rate is in line with market prices now being charged in the region.
By some time next year there will be charging stations at several locations, including the arenas in Trenton and Frankford and at the YMCA.
Council will make a final decision on the recommendation.
