Mischief to Residential Building
On December 1, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., Belleville police received a call from a property manager of a residential highrise building located on Bridge St E regarding damage to windows at the front of the building. Police attended and determined that the suspect shot the window out using a small caliber type pellet or BB gun. The complaint advised police that he believed the incident may have occurred around midnight. Surveillance video is being obtained and city police are asking anyone who may have any information to contact them at 613-966-0882 or Quinte Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
On December 1, 2021 at 10:40 a.m., city police were dispatched to a financial institution in the downtown core with regards to an adult male causing a disturbance in the entrance of the business. Officers arrived on scene and located the male suspect. Further investigation revealed the male was wanted on an outstanding warrant with charges before the court. The accused, 30-year-old Dillon Kerr of no fixed address, was arrested on the warrant and charged with breaching his undertaking. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service and later released on his own recognizance with a new court date of January 6, 2022.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On December 1, 2021 at 4:40 p..,m Belleville police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision that occurred near the intersection of Dundas St E and Herchimer Ave. There were no injuries however the vehicles involved were heavily damaged. A 77-year-old Belleville malewas charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Failing to Yield from a Private Drive.
Belleville Police would like to remind the public that this section of the city is currently under heavy road repair and construction. Driving lanes have been reduced and entries into businesses in that area require extra attention when accessing. Police are asking drivers and pedestrians to be extra cautious when driving or walking in that area.
