The ice on local waterways isn’t anywhere near being safe and two of man’s best friends can attest to that.
Two dogs went through ice in the Quinte region Tuesday.
Just before 3 p.m. Dexter, a three year-old Husky mix, went through ice of Stoco Lake.
He was rescued in decent condition by Tweed firefighters. OPP and Hastings-Prince Edward paramedics also assisted.
Then just after 6 p.m. a dog went through the ice of Pleasant Bay near North Beach Provincial Park.
It too was safely brought to shore by Prince Edward County firefighters from stations 6 and 7.
