Christmas can be the happiest or toughest time of the year formany of us, and that is the focus of a program Community Care South Hastings is standing behind.
Several years ago the Victoria Order of Nurses created Christmas for Seniors, and C.C.S.H. is working to bring some joy to those in need this holiday season.
Lorraine Pyle is the Service Coordinator for Christmas for Seniors.
“The best way for the community at large to help us keep this beautiful program alive is to support and sponsor out tags.”
Tags are connected to the Christmas tree, and financial donations go to purchase the gift suggestions on the tree
Pyle says there are financial options for giving.
“There’s a multitude of ways to sponsor. You can stop in and pay cash, you can pay by credit card, you can pay by e-transfer. It’s all possible that way.”
She adds that COVID is front of mind in the way people are giving.
“Keeps our community members safe, we still get those gifts to our seniors, who have just no one else sometimes.”
