The Trenton Golden Hawks have extended their winning streak to seven games with a 5-3 victory over the Cougars in Cobourg.
Trenton opened a 4-1 lead through two periods then hung on as Cobourg scored two goals early in the third.
Jake Campbell scored twice including an empty netter.
Campbell has six goals in his last two games and nine in his last five while raising his season total to 17.
Sam DAmico, Aaron Jameison and Stephen McDonald added singles.
The Golden Hawks improve to 18-3-0-2 for 38 points.
They open a 12 point lead on second place Wellington and Haliburton County in the OJHL East Division.
Trenton hosts the Toronto Patriots on Friday night.
Rebels win on the road
In the Provincial Junior C Hockey League Adam Klaas scored at 3:37 of overtime to lift the Campbellford Rebels over the Panthers 2-1 in Port Hope.
