Bay of Quinte MP Ryan Williams had some strong words for the Liberal Party in the House of Commons Friday.
When speaking about the housing crisis facing Canadians, which is felt strongly in the Bay of Quinte area, he likened the Liberal Party to the Grinch.
“Will the Liberals fix the inflation tax on housing by producing supply, not inflation causing cash, or will they be the Grinch that steals Christmas?”
Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland replied saying that MPs need to support Bill C2 which offers support to the tourism industry and lockdown supports if they are needed.
Williams also took aim at the Liberal Party over inflation and its effect on housing.
He said that he recently heard from a local resident about her struggles to keep up.
“She lives in a modest home, but with rising costs she cannot survive on her CPP and AOS. She takes home over $820 a month and doesn’t know if she will afford to live in her home for much further because of the inflation tax on housing.”
He said that they must work together to fix the inflation tax on housing to keep roofs over heads of Canadians.
