U10- Gillespie’s Tree Service
The Gillespie Tree Services QRD U10’s hosted the Markham Waxers this weekend. QRD jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead early in the first period and seemed to control most of the play. However, late in the first period Markham would score two goals to take a 2-1 lead heading to the 2nd period. The Waxers would score another goal on the power play moving the lead to 3-1 at the end of the 2nd period leaving the QRD squad to try to come back from a multi goal deficit for a third game in a row. QRD did manage to score one goal in the 3rd period to make the game 3-2 but the Waxers squashed any hopes of a comeback as they scored an empty net goal to secure the 4-2 victory. Logan Skutovich got the start between the pipes and played well to help keep the game within reach.

The upcoming schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Red Devils as they will take on Barrie, Richmond Hill and Markham in their next three games (combined record of 18-2-1).

U13- E360 Solutions
The E360 Solution U13’s had two home games on the schedule this week. On Saturday, they hosted the York Simcoe Express in Belleville. There was no score at the end of the first period, but the sticks were hot in the second period. The Express scored three quick goals, but Quinte was ready to fire back. Jonas McCoy to Wyatt Whalen for the first goal. Ty Leavitt to Seth Scaletta for goal number two, followed by Keegan Goulah to Ryan Sherwin. The game was tied 3-3 at the end of the second period. It was a hard fought third period, but with 30 seconds left in the game the Express found the back of the net. Lily Reid was solid in net and kept it a close game. Quinte takes a 4-3 loss against the Express.
On Sunday, the Barrie Jr. Colts faced off in Madoc. It was a scoreless game until late in the third period when Chisholm made a pass out front and Leavitt was there for the only goal of the game. Charlie Vos takes home the shut out in net with the 1-0 win against the Colts.
Up next the E360 Solution Devils hope to bring home 6 points when they face off against the Kingston Jr. Gaels, Whitby Wildcats and Clarington Toros.
U12- Stampkrete Concrete Contracting
The Stampkrete QRD U12’s travelled to Whitby on the weekend to participate in the prestigious Silver Stick Tournament. On Thursday, they opened the tournament with a win over the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs by a score of 3-1. Scoring for Quinte was Lauchlan Whelan from Joey Seguin, Brechyn Aird, and Coen Lowry from Ewan Dahle and Trent Clow. Ryerson Swan secured the win in net.
On Friday QRD faced off against a strong Oakville Rangers squad. Oakville opened the scoring and potted another to go up 2-0 halfway through the game. However, Quinte would storm back with Drew Wright and Ewan Dahle both scoring unassisted goals to even out the game at 2 a piece. Quinte would then take the lead in the 3rd with Hudson Brown scoring from in tight, assisted by Trent Clow and Brechyn Aird. Oakville would go on to get the equalizer late in the game to end the affair in a 3-3 tie. Nathan Ferriss took the tie in net.
In their 2nd game on Friday, QRD played the #1 ranked team in the province, the Vaughan Kings. The Stampkrete QRD U12’s played arguably their best game of the season as they would go on to win the tight checking affair 2-1. Scoring in the win was Ewan Dahle from Trent Clow and Coen Lowry, and Lowry from Maeve Aird and Hudson Brown. Ryerson Swan played outstanding in the victory!
On Saturday, QRD played their final round robin game of the tournament against the Sudbury Nickel City Sons. It was all Quinte in this one as they skated to a 4-0 win. Scoring for QRD was Coen Lowry (x2), Drew Wright and Dawson Chalk. Assists were awarded to Maeve Aird (x2), Joey Seguin, Easton Thompson, Trent Clow, and Ben Hunt. Nathan Ferriss made some timely saves, shutting the door for Quinte and securing the shut-out!
With a 3-0-1 record after round robin play, QRD would place 1st in their pool and secure the 2nd seed going into the quarter-finals on Sunday. Facing off against a strong Soo Jr. Greyhounds team, they battled right to the end. However, an empty net goal for the Greyhounds would seal QRD’s fate as they dropped the contest 4-2. Joey Seguin and Easton Thompson scored for Quinte. Lauchlan Whelan, Thompson, Coen Lowry, and Kalum Phillips assisted on the goals. Ryerson Swan made some timely saves in the net to keep this one within reach.

U14- Free Flow Petroleum
The U14 Free Flow Petroleum Red Devils netted 4 of 6 points this week.
A 3-0 victory on Wednesday night, the Free Flow Petroluem U14s hosted the Kingston Jr. Gaels. The fans in the stands saw a physical game to say the least, however, the Devils kept their composure, taking and maintaining an early lead. Cohen Bedore and the U14s kept Kingston off the scoreboard and earned the 3-0 shut-out. Scoring the three first-period goals were: Jack Foley (Ryan Babbs and Jacob Moore), Tavin MacDonald (Cooper Kelly) and Kaden Koutroulides (Moore and Foley).
On Saturday the U14s travelled to Oshawa and were greeted with a home squad that was ready to deliver. The Devils saw only one goal, by Noah Lesser (assisted by Graydon Walst). Katste Brant took the 3-1 loss in net.
In their third and final game of the weekend, the Free Flow Petroleum Devils hosted on Sunday. Meeting up with the North Central Predators for a final time in the regular season, the U14s were once again victorious (5-1) versus the Predators. Cohen Bedore in net; players earning points in this game were: Foley (2 goals and 3 assists), Moore (2 goals and 1 assist), Koen Deveau-Smith (1 goal), Matthew Airhart (3 assists).
On deck: The U14s travel to Markham on Monday and head to the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Tournament for a weekend away.
U16- Madison Excavating
The U16 Quinte Red Devils took to the road this weekend for the International Silverstick Tournament in Whitby.
They started with the London Junior Knights defeating them 1-0. The loan goal was scored by Braedyn Rogers, unassisted. In net for the win Glen McInnes.
Friday morning, they faced the Don Mills Flyers and tied them 1-1. Nolan Donnelly scored with an assist by Gage Butcher. Standing tall in net Mike McIvor.
Later that evening the boys faced the Toronto Red Wings earning a 4-2 win. Goals scored by Beckett Ewart, Trey Cocek, Ethan Toms and to seal the deal an empty net by Thomas Kuipers. Assists by Ethan Toms, Nolan Donnelly, Carson Campbell and Beckett Ewart. A stellar performance in net by Glen McInnes.
Saturday morning they faced the Richmond Hill Coyotes in a game that ended in a 0-0 tie. Mike McIvor in for the shut out. This earned the team a spot in the quarter finals facing the Ajax Pickering Raiders. The game ended in a 2-2 tie forcing 8 OVERTIMES. There was a full house watching this exciting game. Ajax sealed the deal late in the 8th overtime with a tip ending a very long exciting game. Goals scored by Ethan Toms and Beckett Ewart assisted by Carson Campbell and Thomas Kuipers. Glen McInnes in net.
On deck: The team is once again on the road this upcoming weekend playing in the Oakville showcase. On Saturday they face the Richmond Hill Coyotes and on Sunday morning, the Markham Waxers.
U18- McInroy Maines Construction
The Quinte McInroy-Maines U18 Red Devils picked up three of four possible points in ETA league play this week.
On Tuesday, the Red Devils grabbed one point in a 1-1 tie with the Richmond Hill Coyotes.Spencer Horgan scored the only goal unassisted for QRD in a fast-paced, back and forth game. Brady Spry played well in net for QRD. Devils of the Day were Spry, Justin Murdoch, Aiden Haller-Brady and Kyle Ramsperger. With the tie, the Devils take 5 of 6 points in the season series against RHC, going 2-0-1.
On Thursday, the Red Devils brought their best effort of the season, handing the Ajax-Pickering Raiders their first loss of the season with a 4-2 win. Ethan Osborne and Trent Williams both scored twice in the win while Aiden Haller-Brady picked up two assists. Brady Spry took the win between the pipes after Brayden Friedrich was injured in warmup. Devils of the Day honors was shared by the whole team.
The U18s are 11-3-2 in league play putting them in 3rd place in the ETA, two points behind the 1st and 2nd place team. QRD is currently ranked fourth overall in the OMHA.
U11- Borchert’s Roofing
The Borchert’s Roofing QRD U11 AAA Team were on the road this weekend and skated to two more wins in league play.
On Saturday, The Red Devils visited the Barrie Colts and picked up an 8-2 win. James Gullage and Miller Nicholson each had a pair of goals in the game. Edmund Dowling, Grady Riley, Jaxson Plummer and Mason Whalen each added singles. Chipping in with helpers on the goals was Riley (2), Rowyn Haley (2), Noah Hughes, Gullage, Shea Teather, Austin Pettey, Nicholson and Whalen. Dax Sage was solid between the pipes.
On Sunday, the Devils headed to Minden to play the North Central Predators where they picked up their 14th straight win in league play. Lighting the lamp in the 8-0 win was Noah Hughes (2), Rowyn Haley (2), James Gullage, Miller Nicholson, Cameron Stevens, and Shea Teather. Assists in the game, went to Stevens (2), Pettey (2), Whalen (2), Haley, Hughes, Gullage, Plummer, Riley and Holden Goulah. Matthew Travers earned his second straight shutout in the win.
On Deck: Saturday exhibition game @ 11:00 am vs Elgin Middlesex. Saturday 3:00 @ Richmond Hill, and Sunday 1:00 at Clarington.
