There was another big increase in COVID-19 infections reported Monday by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health.
In a report covering Saturday and Sunday, 43 new COVID cases were reported in the two counties.
The majority of cases, 23, were located in Belleville.
There were eight new infections in Quinte West, six in Prince Edward County, three on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, two in central Hastings and one near Deseronto.
Twenty-five positive tests were found in unvaccinated people, 17 in those who were fully vaccinated, and one person who was partially vaccinated.
With 39 recoveries, there are now 129 active cases in Hastings-Prince Edward.
Two people remain in hospital, neither in intensive care.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health also reported that as of Monday morning, 315 children aged five to 11 have been vaccinated at local clinics.
Eighty-six per cent of the local population aged 12 and over have received two doses of a COVID vaccine with 91 per cent having received a first shot.
In Northumberland Monday, there were three new cases and 13 active.
