The Special Investigations Unit of Ontario is investigating the circumstances around a man’s death in Bobcaygeon Thursday morning.
According to the SIU, at approximately 10 a.m., City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to a rural residence near Highway 49 and Highway 37 for an ongoing investigation.
At the residence, police say a man had a gun and one officer discharged his weapon before retreating.
Additional officers and paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead.
An investigation continues.
