The recent surge of COVID-19 cases in HPE is continuing as Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported 15 new COVID-19 cases Friday.
With three recoveries that brings the active total to 125 cases.
Five of the new cases are in fully vaccinated people, nine are in unvaccinated people and the remaining case is in a partially vaccinated person.
The health unit’s COVID-19 dashboard is also showing one new COVID-19 related death which makes 16 since the start of the pandemic.
Eleven of the new cases are in Belleville, three are in Quinte West and one is in Centre Hastings.
To date 91% of HPE residents over 12 years old have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 86% have had two doses.
In Northumberland on Friday, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported two new cases.
Thirteen cases are active.
