Some changes may be coming to Prince Edward County’s noise by-law.
At Tuesday’s meeting council will consider a staff report recommending they approve a new draft noise by-law that will address commercial amplified noise and industrial noise.
The draft by-law would change time restrictions related to noise in urban and rural areas.
If approved, the prohibited times for “noise from an amplified source” in a hamlet or urban area would begin at 9 p.m. and in rural areas would begin at 11 p.m.
The by-law would also include limitations on noise created during site alteration, work on quarries or pits, retention ponds or docking expansions from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in order to limit noise created by construction equipment.
Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
