Being informed and alert led to charges against a Belleville man and woman late Wednesday.
City police officers on patrol spotted a vehicle reported missing from a rental agency on Tuesday and stopped it on Bridge Street West around 11 o’clock at night.
Police say the female driver had a suspended licence and also noticed open alcohol next to a male passenger.
After searching the vehicle officers seized a taser, ammunition, and some cocaine.
Richard Gourlie, 38, was charged with drug possession, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breach of probation.
Gourlie appears in court December 20.
