A Belleville resident was lucky to have escaped injury during a domestic incident in the city Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 2 o’clock a vehicle was driven over a curb and onto a lawn. A resident who tried to block the vehicle reported seeing a young female in the vehicle screaming and trying to kick out the door.
The vehicle left the scene but the licence plate was known and Belleville police attended the residence connected to the plate and arrested a 34-year-old Belleville man.
He was charged with assault, driving while prohibited, and possession of an illegal substance.
