Of the six new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, five are unvaccinated.
HPE Public Health says the other case is a fully vaccinated individual.
There are two cases each in Belleville, Quinte West and Prince Edward County.
The health unit dashboard shows the number of active cases is up to 20. There have been three recoveries since Tuesday.
Five people remain in hospital with two in the ICU.
Vaccination rates remain at 85% of the local population 12 years of age and over having received two shots and 90% with a first dose.
In Northumberland today, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reports two new cases and seven active.
