City of Quinte West staff are recommending council advise that they explore a hybrid model for city parking.
In a staff report to be discussed by council Monday night, staff say that the current parking equipment is at the end of its service life and the parking system itself is outdated both in terms of payment level and execution.
Staff are recommending council allow them to explore a hybrid model that would see street parking meters removed and simply put in a time limit on street parking.
The hybrid model would also continue paid parking in municipal lots, which hold 442 of the 661 total spots.
Council meets virtually Monday at 6:30 p.m.
