A 22-year-old Belleville man is facing impaired driving charges after an incident in the city early Saturday morning.
Belleville Police say they were on patrol at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Dundas Street West when they saw a vehicle heading east in the westbound lanes at high speeds, almost striking a police cruiser head-on.
Police initiated a traffic stop for dangerous operation and found that the driver of the vehicle appeared to be impaired.
As a result, 22-year-old Belleville resident Pious Teodosio was breathalyzed at the Belleville Police Station and was charged with impaired driving, over 80 milligrams, and dangerous operation.
The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date set for December 16.
