The City of Belleville currently has three zoning bylaws as a result of its amalgamation with the Township of Thurlow and the Township of Sidney. Dillon Consulting Ltd. has been retained to combine the three bylaws into one user-friendly, City-wide zoning bylaw. This work is ongoing.
The City has identified some preliminary issues that the new zoning bylaw will need to address, including several zoning-related issues that have generated a range of opinions at the community level. These issues relate to:
-
Storage containers in the urban residential zone
-
Parking and/or storage of boats, recreational vehicles and work trucks in the urban residential zone
-
Backyard chickens in the rural residential zone
The City of Belleville would like to obtain additional community input on these issues and is inviting you to participate and provide your feedback either by attending an online Zoom meeting or by completing an online survey.
