Breach of Undertaking
On November 7, 2021 at 7:30 a.m., a 34-year-old Belleville resident was released on an undertaking for domestic mischief. One of the conditions of the undertaking was to not attend at the address where the incident occurred. At 11:15 a.m., police received a call that the person had returned to the same residence and was banging on the victim’s door. Police arrived and the accused was arrested for breaching the undertaking. The accused was held for a bail hearing on November 8, 2021. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Domestic Assault
On November 7, 2021 at 12:15 p.m., police attended a family dispute in the northeast end of the city. Upon arrival police received information that two parties were in a domestic relationship and had assaulted each other. As a result, a 47-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with domestic assault and released on an undertaking, with a court date of November 16. Further, a 50-year-old Belleville resident was charged with domestic assault, and released on an undertaking with a court date of November 29, 2021.
Theft
On November 7, 2021 at 1:26 p.m., police attended at 101 Bell Blvd, Canadian Tire in regards to a theft. Store security had arrested Amanda Bruinsma, a 34-year-old Belleville resident for theft. Police continued the arrest. She was released on an appearance notice with a court date of December 16, 2021.
Domestic Assault and Mischief
On November 7, 2021at 7:30 p.m., Belleville police were called to the south end of Belleville regarding a domestic assault. Officers arrived on scene and one of the involved parties had left prior to police arrival. Shortly after, officers located the involved male in the west end of the city. The accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault. While in custody the accused caused mischief to the cell block area and was additionally charged with mischief under $5000. The 40-year-old Belleville resident was later released with a December 6, 2021 court date. The name of the accused is not being release to protect the identity of the victim.
Mischief
On November 7, 2021 at 11 p.m., Belleville police attended a west end address at the request of the Belleville Fire Department after they had attended for a fire alarm that had been pulled when there was no fire. A description of the suspect was provided and an officer located a person matching that description in the area. Thirty-eight-year-old Melissa McGiffen was charged with mischief under $5000 and released with a December 2, 2021 court date.
