The journey towards a new Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward facility has received another generous boost.
Earlier this week the Humane Society announced that Wayne and Wendy Sheppard have donated $100,000 to the It Takes Heart Capital Campaign.
The Quinte region residents and ‘lifelong pet parents’ say they’ve welcomed numerous shelter pets to their home.
In recognition of the gift, one of the new facility’s two meet-and-greet rooms will be named the Wayne and Wendy Sheppard Meet and Greet Room and will be a space for potential adopters to meet with animals.
Capital campaign Chair Greg Sudds said that the gift marks an important milestone in the capital campaign which will aid a sorely needed new facility going up at 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in Quinte West
