Belleville police responded to 69 calls for service between 5 a.m. on November 4, 2021 and 5 a.m. on November 5, 2021.
Theft
On November 4, 2021 at 12 p.m., police attended a business on North Front Street in regards to a theft. Upon arrival police received information that a 50-year-old Belleville resident had been apprehended for leaving the store without paying for some merchandise. The items were of little value and the male was issued a trespassing ticket for engaging in a prohibited activity in lieu of a criminal charge.
Scam
On November 4, 2021 at 4 p.m., police received a report of a scam in which a person lost $700. The victim received an email indicating that her friend was having some kind of medical issue. The victim was instructed to purchase gift cards and to send them. When the victim contacted her friend later on, her friend did not know what she was talking about. There were no suspects.
