Loyalist College students are walking to fundraise for the United Way Hastings Prince Edward and are asking the public to join them.
The second annual Walk This Way walkathon – a virtual event – will be held from November 5-14.
Students in the Public Relations – Events Management post-graduate program will be walking to raise money and promote awareness for the United Way through social media.
Nick Foley, Public Relations and Event Management Coordinator says they’re encouraging others in the community to walk on their own time to raise money for the organization.
Their fundraising goal is $2,000.
Students encourage the community to get outside for some fresh air, donate and use the hash tag #UnitedWayWalkThisWay on social media platforms to help spread awareness and encourage donations for the United Way HPE over 10 days.
Over the years, Loyalist PR students have raised more than $90,000 in support of United Way HPE.
This year’s United Way HPE goal is $1.95 million.
