After considerable discussion Brighton council has voted to formally reprimand Councillor Mary Tadman for revealing confidential information involving an employee who was to be terminated following a closed council meeting last June.
However, council did not follow through on the municipality’s Integrity Commissioner’s recommendation that Tadman’s pay be suspended for between 30 and 45 days.
During the Commissioner’s investigation, Tadman admitted to telling former Mayor Mark Walas and a friend in Toronto about the planned termination of an employee in the days after the closed meeting of council.
