The run on construction that has gone on in Prince Edward County in 2021 continued through the month of October.
Last month in the county there were 125 construction permits issued at a total value of $18,839,700.
That trumps the same number from October of 2020 when there were 70 permits issued at a total construction value of $8,121,580.
It is the second month in 2021 during which over 100 permits have been issued.
In the entirety of 2020, monthly construction permits issued in Prince Edward County only eclipsed 100 in a single month one time, in August.
Last month there were 29 permits issued under “Miscellaneous” for a total construction value of $598,100, 18 permits issued or new houses at a value of $13,036,000 and 17 permits issued for Septic (New) for a total value of $340,500.
To date so far this year there have been 876 permits issued for a total construction value of $146,327,503.73.
With two months remaining in the year, the latter number has already nearly doubled that of the entire year in 2020, which was $78.639,324.02.
Also last year the single month construction value total only eclipsed $10 million three times during the course of the entire year.
So far in 2021, the total single month construction value total has only been below $10 million twice, in January and February.
