The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board and the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Unit have confirmed that a student at Bayside Secondary School has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a release from the health unit, the case was identified and all people deemed high risk contacts from the student’s classroom or classrooms have been contacted.
This means that anyone who hasn’t already received a call or been contacted by the health unit is not deemed a high risk contact.
The health unit is in the process of identifying possible students or staff outside of the identified classroom or classrooms that may be a positive case.
Students considered as low risk contacts were sent a letter from the health unit via email.
The school remains open.
