Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee is expected to make a final recommendation on the city’s new Official Plan at its meeting Monday.
The plan guides how development proceeds in the city and has been in the works for some time involving input from the public and the provincial government.
The final draft adds 167 hectares of expropriated agricultural land onto the existing Northeast Industrial Park while putting an equal amount of land around Cannifton in a holding pattern for new development.
It also provides for more housing types and more affordable housing along with more open space provisions among other items.
The planning committee meets virtually at 5:30 today.
