It’s Halloween on Sunday and people are getting ready for ghosts and goblins to ring the door bell.
Quinte News asked Professor of Cognitive Science, Jim Davies, at Carleton University, why we seek out scary experiences when fear is an unpleasant emotion.
Davies says it’s related to things we do like, like roller coasters.
“When bad things would happen to other people it really behooves us to pay attention to see if they can learn anything from that. You don’t want to encounter fire yourself if you know how to deal with it. It’s better if you can watch someone else deal with it.”
