Traffic will soon flow again across a downtown Belleville staple.
The Lower Bridge on Bridge Street is scheduled to reopen to traffic on November 1.
The bridge, which opened in 1930, has been closed since late April for major repair work.
Manager of Engineering Ray Ford says there is still a little work that will need to be completed next year that may result in some single lane or sidewalk closures but a complete shutdown will not be required.
Last December, City Council approved the almost $1.3 million rehabilitation which included repairing and carbon fibre wrapping damaged concrete on the arches and floor beams.
National Structures Inc. of Napanee was contracted to do the work.
