With the COVID-19 pandemic slowing down, the cities of Belleville and Quinte West are preparing to hold a Quinte Region Career Fair at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
Belleville’s Economic and Strategic Initiatives manager Karen Poste tells Quinte News they are not able to have as many employers in gymnasium as they normally do.
“We still have room for at least 30. We’re hoping to get lot of job seekers out to the Wellness Centre on November 17.”
Poste says the idea was to see how much further along the recovery would be.
She adds, “Traditionally lot of people are able to get jobs at the career fair and we expect the very same thing to happen at this Career Fair. We just need anyone who’s either looking for a new job, looking to change careers, looking to get into the workforce, to come out to the Career Fair. It’s a really great opportunity for people to talk one-on-one with employers and get a sense of what opportunities they have available.”
Registration is mandatory for both job seekers and employers, and proof of vaccination is required to enter the building.
The Career Fair runs 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 17.
The Quinte Region Career Fair allows employers from across the region to showcase employment opportunities, promote their organization and meet qualified candidates. The event also allows job seekers looking for a new position or a career change to explore available opportunities and network with recruiters and leaders in multiple sectors.
Job seekers and employers from the Quinte region who would like to participate can register online at http://quintecareerfair.ca/. “We are thrilled to welcome back job seekers and employers in person,” says Linda Lisle, Quinte West Manager of Economic Development and Tourism Services. “If you are an employer looking to hire, we encourage you to register for our upcoming career fair.”
“There are a variety of opportunities in the region for anyone looking to find a new job or to change careers,” says Poste. “With various opportunities, we are confident that job seekers will be pleased with the careers that the Quinte region has to offer.”
