It is day five of the strike by employees of Shorelines Casino Belleville and the union president says no new talks are planned.
Ninety-three workers, members of Unifor local 1090, walked off the job last Friday after they were unable to come to terms on a first collective bargaining agreement with Great Canadian Gaming.
The group joined the union in early 2020.
Local president Corey Dalton says he has been informed that the company’s application for an injunction to keep picketers from blocking the entrance to the casino will be heard in court this Friday.
No new negotiations have been scheduled in the meantime.
Dalton says the union is willing to go back to the bargaining table if the company is.
Management is currently operating the casino.
