The Kiwanis Club of Belleville has some plans for improvements to the Kiwanis Bayshore Trail and Bayshore Park to help celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary next year.
Kiwanis President Marjorie Buck told council they hoped to build a new pergola structure in a different location, build a new entrance to the park, put up banners and signage near the boat launch and canteen, and create new, more visual, storyboards along the trail.
The total cost of the projects is around $100,000 and council will write a letter of support so Kiwanis can apply to a certain funding agency for financial support.
Buck also asked council for some financial support but no commitment was made.
